Kaiju Beer is my Japanese beer company that uses traditional German brewing techniques, with traditional flavors of Japan. The brand style takes inspiration of the Japanese Pop Art style from the 60’s, and modernizing it for the current eyes. Retro, trendy, and simple to make each can look uniform.

When creating the beer label, I had many goals in mind. The first one was to make a beer label for a small can of about 350ml. These are traditional beer cans that are commonly seen throughout the world, and are not as extreme as the tall ones.

My second goal was to make it as realistic as possible. In order to do this, I did a lot of research on the laws of alcohol in Japan and what kinds of markings, labels, warnings, and ingredients are required to have on the cans.

My final goal was to make it appealing to the eyes. The target audience for this product is Japanese beer drinkers, but when put in front of the eyes of students in the United States, many gave positive reviews/ Many stated that the logo was the best part of the can because of the cartoonish look.
